Together with the administrators of Occidental Mindoro State College (OMSC), Valera unveiled an innovative and exceptional solution that the startup company can provide.
On the 27th of January 2023, she was invited to deliver a speech to the students of Hospitality Management and the College of Arts, Science, and Technology during their Pre-Internship Seminar held at Occidental Mindoro State College (OMSC). The topic of discussion was centered around the career opportunities that the graduating class could explore beyond the domain of SHM-related careers, as they prepare for their OJTs.
Overcoming Discrimination and Promoting Inclusivity
Employers frequently prioritize candidates who possess both education and relevant work experience which is a major drawback for fresh graduates, who often have limited skills. This norm restricts their ability to showcase their potential and capabilities, which can hinder their chances of securing employment.
Valera, as the co-founder of Intelliworx PH, wanted to break that status quo. She decided to take a 15-minute short but insightful talk on one of the major issues; where fresh graduates from rural areas go to Manila to look for greener pastures – employment, stability, and a better shot at the future. Addressing the matter to graduating students made her presentation significant and valuable.
